The Mint updates and, announcing, TEMPLE IX!

Hey kiddos!

Just wanted to let you know that we got some video of The Mint performance and has been edited into something bigger than just a performance video, which is this:

Temple is a several-day-long streaming event comprised of goth/industrial musicians of all calibers. The event happens every year and is a fundraiser for a new cause/charity every year--this year we will be raising money for cancer research. RUST_VISION will be livestreaming a 30 minute video comprised of footage from our show, as well as footage from rehearsal and in-studio. Said footage has also had its audio sweetened up a little so that it doesn't just sound like audio from a phone. Looking forward to sharing that with everyone. Additionally, an extra song will be tacked on to the performance video, a version which will only be available to Subscribers.

Additionally, The Mint seemed to like us! However, we are sadly unable to get the people we need to put a band together in time for another Mint show. Hopefully, another opportunity will open up in the future, but as of right now, we are putting shows on hold until other parts of our lives level out :)

TBT “The Culling” demo dance

Hey kiddos!

During the beginning of the pandemic, we were all bored out of our minds and were looking for something to do. “The Culling” was a song that came from that need to do something. And when the conversation happened where L said they would love to dance to one of my songs, I threw it into the hat & they loved it. So much so I think they danced to it twice. This instrumental demo of “The Culling” was one of the first dance videos L & I made during that a) used a gimbal to stabilize the footage and b) cut between different takes, as opposed to just doing the whole vid as one continuous shot (at least I think it was the first…) Anyway, hope you enjoy this glimpse into the past! 😷😷

Facefuck and Instagag

Hey kiddos,

I don't like advertisements. It feels like a form of violence. A disruption. An invasion. And Meta's platforms are so inundated with pleasing corporate spenders that every other post in my feed is--quite literally--an advertisement. Twitter usually lets me go about 5-10 posts before I see an advertisement. I recently hopped on TikTok to try my hand at microcontent, but am being fed lots of algorithmic/advertised things by the platform there as well. This feels exhausting and like I am unable to connect with people in any meaningful way on any of those platforms. So I am trying something new.

I am currently experimenting with the platform Vero as a possible alternative to both Meta platforms, Twitter, & TikTok. Its layout seems like all the things we wished FB & Insta would’ve done 12 years ago, but without any advertisements. If people continue to hop on, it’s definitely something I could see myself using in place of the other aforementioned platforms. Check it out, let’s see if it catches?

Hope to see you there.
